Research and Planning / Annual Statistical Report / Benefit Programs / General Relief Caseload and Payments
General Relief is a local program that may offer limited financial support. Each community decides if the program is offered and how it is used based on local needs and available funding.
State funding for most parts of this program ended in 2012. Today, only limited support remains, including help for certain children. Because of this change, fewer people receive benefits.
Local agencies choose how to provide support. This allows them to respond to the needs of their communities in a flexible way.
