Percentage of Income Payment Program (PIPP)

How It Works 

• Pay your reduced bill in full and on time each month 
• Each month, 1/12 of your old balance is forgiven 
• After 12 months of on-time payments, your past-due balance is gone 

Staying in the Program 

To remain enrolled, you must: 

• Re-verify your income each year 
• Report changes in income or household size 
• Stay current on monthly payments 

Missing payments, making partial payments or failing to re-verify may cause removal.

How to Apply 

Option 1: Apply online through CommonHelp 
Option 2: Submit a paper application to your Local Department of Social Services (LDSS)

Required Documents 

• Proof of income for the last 30 days for all adults (over 18 years old) in the household
• Current electric bill
• Social Security numbers for all household members
• Any additional documents requested by LDSS
