Research and Planning

The Office of Research and Planning helps the Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) use data, research and planning to improve programs and services for people across Virginia. The office studies trends, tracks results and provides reports that support good decisions, strong oversight and state and federal reporting requirements.

  • Conduct research to support policy and program evaluation

Institutional Review Board (IRB)

The IRB reviews proposed human research studies to ensure they comply with state and federal regulations and protect the rights, welfare and wellbeing of participants.
