AmeriCorps Virginia

AmeriCorps connects people across Virginia and the country with service opportunities that strengthen communities and create brighter futures. Members take on critical needs—from education and health to the environment, safety and economic stability—while gaining skills and support for their own journey. Serving in AmeriCorps

AmeriCorps brings people together to tackle the country’s most pressing challenges, through national service and volunteering, helping to make service to others a cornerstone of our national culture. Through a variety of different programs, AmeriCorps offers opportunities with different time commitments and requirements, meaning you can serve in whatever capacity works for your goals and lifestyle.

  • AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) offers key capacity-building support for addressing poverty through the placement of talented, passionate individuals.
  • AmeriCorps NCCC (National Civilian Community Corps) offers short-term support for service projects lasting 3 to 13 weeks through regional teams of people aged 18-26 years.
  • AmeriCorps Seniors offers meaningful ways to engage seniors in supporting communities.
  • AmeriCorps State offers grant funding to support the placement of AmeriCorps members who deliver services alongside staff.
