When Life Affects Payments

Sometimes life changes can affect your ability to keep up with child support payments. If you are not sure what to do next, support is available.

The Division of Child Support Enforcement (DCSE) offers programs to help you understand your options and take the next step. One of these programs is Family Engagement Services (FES), which connects parents to support and resources.

Family Engagement Services

Family Engagement Services (FES) works with parents who may be facing challenges making child support payments.

An FES case manager can work with you one-on-one to understand your situation and support your next steps.

FES can connect you to support such as:

  • Job and training resources
  • School programs, like a high school diploma (GED)
  • Health support, including mental health and substance use
  • Housing or transportation resources
  • Support with getting to work or other places
  • Parent or co-parent classes
  • Other services that may support you

FES will work with you one-on-one to make a plan and help you stay on track.
