How to Request a VLC Profile

For Local Agencies, Community Partners, and Contractors

Who Can Submit Requests

All profile requests, including new accounts, password resets, and activations must come from an authorized representative:

  • Local Security Officer
  • Supervisor
  • Staff Trainer

Timing & Early Activation

To help new hires start on Day 1, we follow this process:

  • Early Processing: Profiles can be created the day before the hire date if the user has an active email address.
  • Standard Processing: If no email is available, the profile will be built on the hire date.

What Information to Include

Include the following details to avoid delays:

  • Full Name: Last, First, Middle
  • Agency & Supervisor Name
  • Hire Date & Active Email Address
  • Job Title: Use the specific number from the acceptable job title list
  • Previous Profile: Did the person have a VLC profile before? If yes, from which agency?
  • Overdue Training: Does the learner have any overdue training?

State Employee Profiles (Cardinal System)

For state employees, the Cardinal System automatically updates VLC:

  • Timeline: Profiles appear in VLC about 10 days after entry in Cardinal.
  • Notification: Once active, learners receive an automated email with login credentials.

Submit requests early and include all required information to ensure learners can access the VLC without delay.
