What Is the Virginia Restaurant Meals Program?

The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS), in partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, created the Virginia Restaurant Meals Program to give more dining options to people who may not be able to cook at home.

With VRMP, eligible SNAP customers can use their Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card to purchase prepared meals at participating restaurants, just like they would at a grocery store. Look for the VRMP logo when you dine out.

Who Is Eligible?

SNAP customers qualify if they are:

  • Age 60 or older
  • Living with a disability
  • Experiencing homelessness
  • The spouse of an eligible customer
